I recently had the chance to do a fitness interview with Cassie Peacock who, as you can see, is getting better with age! Unlike most of us! Cassie’s going to share some health and fitness tips for how she gets it done.
Oh, did I mention she has 3 BOYS?? How’s your “can’t find the time to exercise” excuse working for you now?
Q: What inspired or motivated you to continue to pursue fitness the way you have?

Cassie: Mental Toughness! It has brought me, and continues to push me farther than I believe I am capable of going.
No stranger to adversity, life has pitched me some pretty hard curve balls, but I always come to the plate swinging. A week after my sixteenth birthday, my mother committed suicide. 2 weeks later, I was pregnant with my first son.
Abandoned, lost, and more afraid than ever, giving up was not an option. I knew that the only way to survive was to approach my life one minute, one hour, and one day at a time. You don’t need an audience to be a Superstar!
This experience would teach me the value of life, the value of a day, and the value of the life spent in a day.
A successful business woman, I am now the Assistant Vice President of a National Finance Company, wife to a former college & professional football player, and the proud mother of 3 incredible boys…10, 11, and 10 years old. Juggling work, family, and personal goals are not always easy.
Mix in a personal battle with arthritis, a job that requires extensive travel, a son in college, 2 children who actively play basketball, football and baseball, and being an ALLSTAR wife… I am often asked how I have time to work out and eat healthy.
Priorities, focus and discipline!! I have accomplished the body of a fitness model in a schedule that warrants little spare time. In making exercise and eating healthy a priority, I live healthier, stronger, and perform better.
True strength is taking personal responsibility for your life and actions (editor’s note: LOVE THIS!).
My key to motivation and success, have been the ability and daily practice of staying focused on the BIG Picture. In life, obstacles and adversity are inevitable.
Remaining focused on my goals, dreams, and enjoying the journey wherever I am at…not only gives me contentment daily, but it allows me the courage and ability to live strong in pursuit of my dreams.
When you mentally prepare for challenges & obstacles ahead of time…you have already eliminated some and minimized others!
Physical, mental preparation and organization help me tackle challenges effectively.
Life has taught me that the Most Valuable Player in your day is YOU. I wake up each day pumped for performance! Your own attitude & perception are huge factors in your day. It plays into your communication with others, and breeds their responses and your results!
HeadSTRONG, my unshakable recipe to happiness and accomplishing greatness!
Q: What advice would you give to someone who’s struggling to stay motivated, keep positive and stick to a proper nutrition and exercise program, especially someone who may not have a positive role model around?
After all, most of us are surrounded every day by a lot more negativity than we are positive people. It can be tough to break away from that.
Cassie: Other people, your past and current circumstances don’t define you. Where you are at today, and where you will be tomorrow is up to you. Strength is accepting full responsibility for your own life, decisions, actions, reactions, attitude, and influences.
Its not the audience that makes the Star…it’s the light burning within!

Q: One thing I’d like for you to address because I feel it’s a big one with women, is weight training. Even nowadays, a lot of women shy away from weight training because they don’t want to look like Arnold.
If they train at all, it’s with the tiny pink weights and they never even break a sweat.
You’ve developed a gorgeous, sexy, lean hard body and you couldn’t have done it without weights.
What do you say to these women to get them to not just train with weights but train hard and make it an important part of their overall program?
Lifting heavy not only burns fat more effectively; it gives you curves. As you train, and build muscle and burn fat, you have the ability to modify your training according to your goals.
Weight training is incredible, and allows you the ability to sculpt your body! If you want to build your glutes, tone your arms, flatten your belly, or transform your body… it can be accomplished with the right weight training & diet.

Body By Weigh Training!
Q: What’s the biggest mistake you made when you started and how did you correct it?
Cassie: Lifting lighter weights, and not keeping a food/nutrition journal. The weights were not heavy enough to bring the results I wanted, and my efforts were being diminished with my diet.
After keeping a food journal, and making evaluated changes to my diet, within 1 month I had drastic results! Within 3 months, I had transformed my body!
Q: What do you think is the most important thing or skill you’ve learned with regard to health and fitness?
Cassie: The required Planning, Execution, Prioritizing, Commitment and Actions which Produce RESULTS, are continuously Conditioned and Built into your Character & Behavior.
The Experience & Knowledge that Shortcuts only Cheat your self out of Winning, are valuable lessons which Develop Discipline to Succeed!
These Skills & Character Strengths are sculpted into your Body and Mind, enabling you to work with more Focus, Strength, Stamina, and Determination than the Competition.
Q: The most common excuse I hear from people who don’t eat right or train is that they don’t have the time.
What advice do you have for people who use ‘lack of time’ as an excuse to eat poorly and avoid exercise?
Cassie: Activity doesn’t = Productivity…begin each day with the end in mind. Understand the value of your TIME. Make sure your actions are Results focused. It will absolutely change your approach to your daily life, your productivity, and your perspective.
I love the quote by B. Eugene Greissman,
“The way you think about time and think about yourself will affect everything that happens to you the rest of your life”
TIME, it’s one of your most valuable investments. The minutes, the hours, the day.
Spend it Wisely, Effectively, Concisely. It can either be your friend, or your enemy.
MAKE time & do what’s important to you. If it is truly a priority, accept no excuses.

Q: What’s a typical day for you when it comes to training and nutrition?
Cassie: My meals consist of high protein, moderate carbs, and very low fat. I eat every 2-3 hours, aiming for about 6 small meals/snacks per day. I train 6 days per week. Due to work, as well as being a mother, I work out at varied times…frequently early morning, or lunch time.
Q: How are you able to consistently fit them into your busy schedule?
Cassie: PLANNING & SCHEDULING! As an outside Sales & Marketing Rep for a National Company, and covering 3 States, I spend a lot of time on the road.
In addition, I am the mother of 3 active boys. Without planning and scheduling my meals & training, as I would a doctor or client appointment, it would not happen.
Q: What do you think are the keys to becoming successful, whether it’s competing or losing 15 pounds of fat?
Cassie: Discipline, Defined Goals & Persistence! Not waiting on motivation to strike, but executing what needs to be done. Set, Serve & Renew your commitments, attitude, influences and actions DAILY!
Q: What’s one of the things you find most challenging about what you do?
Cassie: Not to over train! I truly love it, and my rest days are the most challenging.
Q: What are your future plans?

Cassie: My first priority is to continue being a role model for my children, inspire them to chase their dreams, and live in strong pursuit of their goals.
During this journey I hope to inspire others, become a Pro Figure Athlete, Spokesmodel, and Rock the Cover of a Major Fitness Magazine.
Thanks, Cassie!
