How Jason Statham Loses 17 Pounds In 6 Weeks
By admin | August 4, 2008
Jason Statham, The Transporter, gets ripped for his new action film War, co-starring Jet Li.
So why mention how another Hollywood celebrity shaped up for a new film? Well, for one, I like Jason Statham’s movies.
Most of them, anyway. I’m still searching for something nice to say about Crank.
And two, he did it in a way that I advocate. He didn’t spend four hours a day working out.

He worked out six days a week but only for about 35 minutes a day.
Oh, Jason also does something else I’m always preaching. He works out intensely.
He couldn’t possibly work out much longer than he does.
By the way, he was on the Olympic diving team and loves mixed martial arts so he’s no stranger to hard work.
He’s not your typical Hollywood celebrity.
The focus of Jason’s training program is high intensity interval training.
Everything he does is a race against the clock.
He performs a 10 minute full body warmup.
Then he cranks it up a bit and does 10 minutes of medium intensity training.
The medium intensity phase gets switched up pretty much every workout.
He might do a variety of pushups on one workout, pullups in another, or maybe a quick kettlebell workout.
His high intensity interval training is pretty brutal.
Jason isn’t trying to get huge but he does want to build some muscle while maximizing fat loss.
He does this by performing an intense circuit.
He goes all out in his interval training by choosing six different exercises that work the whole body and he does five circuits.
He rests a very brief 10 seconds between exercises.
Brief rests is another thing I’ve been recommending.
Some of the exercises Jason uses in his interval training include:
- Rope Climbs
- Basic Weight Lifting Exercises (such as bench press, squats and deadlifts) He also does these for 20 rep sets, another technique I love.
- Crab Walk
- Front Squats
- Pullups
- Hanging Knee Raises
- Farmer Walk (this is brutal if you’ve never done it - grab two heavy dumbbells.Holding them at your side walk the length of the gym and back - do as many reps as you can). You can also do this outside and use anything such as a sand bag - or fill a duffel bag with sand.
- Weighted Step Ups
As far as nutrition, yes, Jason counted calories. It’s easy to eat too many calories if you aren’t counting.
His nutrition plan won’t surprise you. Six small meals. Egg whites, vegetables, lean meats, fish, nuts and protein shakes.
No refined sugar of flour. No bread or pasta. No sweets, fruit juices or alcohol.
