Why Sports and Fitness Really Matter

by admin

Sports and fitness pursuits like bodybuilding get a lot of negative press.

Most recently of course, is the Mitchell Report about steroids in major league baseball.

And that’s just the performance enhancing drugs. It doesn’t count the Cincinnati “lots of us are in jail” Bengals or players like Gilbert “you can’t arrest me I’m a basketball player’ Arenas.

Then there are the pro bodybuilders. Do I need to even go there?

Not exactly the type of people you want as role models for kids. But those are people who make choices. Not the sports themselves.

I can’t even list all the positive things I got out of my athletic days.

Things like:

  • Confidence

  • Hard work

  • Teamwork

  • Humility

And the list goes on. It’s my belief, from my experience, that all kids should be involved in athletics at some point.

I saw an amazing story on the news awhile back that reminded me about all of this. Just now, Ryan Lee reminded me of this story.

I had to share it with you. A reminder about everything that is right about sports and fitness.
