10 Fattest Cites and 10 Fittest Cities - It’s that time again. Is your city on the fat list?
I found something strange and interesting in looking at these lists. But first, here they are.
1. Colorado Springs
2. Minneapolis
3. Albuquerque, New Mexico
4. Denver
5. Portland, Oregon
6. Virginia Beach, Virginia
7. Seattle
8. Honolulu
9. San Fransisco
10. Milwaukee
10 Fattest Cities in America
1. Las Vegas
2. Arlington, Texas
3. San Antonio
4. Fort Worth, Texas
5. El Paso, Texas
6. Dallas
7. Miami
8. Oklahoma City
9. Mesa, Arizona
10. Houston
Okay, first things first. Did you notice that ALL the fattest cities are southern, warm climate cities?
The northern most city on the list is the blistering hot Las Vegas.
I would think that the fittest cities would tend to be in the south.
There’s better weather most of the year, making outdoor activities easier to pursue on a regular basis.
Apparently, people like sitting in air conditioned bars in the southern states.
Second, what the heck is up in Texas? I mean, really. Six of the top ten fattest cities are in the Lone Star state!
What’s that all about? Wake up, Texas.
For a very prideful state you don’t seem to be taking a lot of pride in your health and appearance. Get off your butt and exercise.
And how about Las Vegas and Miami? Apparently, all those fit beautiful people you see in these two cities are imports, not home grown.
On the flip side, a number of the fittest cities are in the northern part of the country where you expect people to hibernate and your body to fight shedding fat to protect you from the cold.
